Gym

St Luke’s has a Sports Centre with a 22.8 meter indoor swimming pool which is heated. Find out more about St Luke’s Sports Centre here. Shopping centre

Exeter has a large shopping centre, with the main High street and Princesshay shopping centre containing a great mix of stores where you can find clothes, stationary, outdoor kits and anything else you may ever want!

The South West is renowned for its contribution to the UK’s rich food and drink culture. As regional capital, Exeter is at the heart of the South West food scene. As well as being home to a vast array of outstanding restaurants, coffee shops, delicatessens and markets, it also hosts the annual Exeter Food and Drink Festival, drawing people from around the country to experience the best the region has to offer.


Cross Keys

The Cross Keys building at the St Luke’s campus provides an exciting, vibrant place to study, meet, eat and drink. On the ground floor, the cafe is open throughout the day offering grab and go items, including Barisca Fairtrade hot drinks, sandwiches, snacks, soft drinks and fruit. In addition, the kitchen counter introduces an exciting hot food menu.

  • Breakfast options include freshly made breakfast pots and wraps available from 8.00 – 10.30.
  • Lunch options is provided from 11.30 - 14.30 and features boxed meals with delicious fresh flavours, burgers, wraps and a selection of sides.


Supermarket

All the usual supermarkets from Aldi to Waitrose are represented in Exeter, many of them in or close to the city centre if you don’t have a car. It can be cheaper and far more rewarding to explore the outstanding local produce on offer at the various butchers, bakers, delis, fishmongers and greengrocers across the city though. Magdalen Road, near St Luke’s Campus, has an array of such foodie-pleasing shops. There is also specialist international supermarkets, farmers’ market (every Thursday at the junction of Fore Street and South Street, right in the centre of town) and farm shops.


Eating Out

Should you have that little extra spending money in your budget. Exeter excels when it comes to eating out. As well as the chain restaurants you’d expect, the city boasts an abundance of independent and small-scale eateries, from burger joints and gastro-pubs to celebrity-chef-run restaurants, street food, and international cuisines. If you don’t want to go out but do not want to cook, Deliveroo, UberEats and JustEat are widely used around the city. However, please remember Exeter does not have Uber cars.
