Students in Old Library

As you begin your time in EES, you’ll be joining a very diverse community of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Some of you will only have studied and lived in the UK before, while others may have experience of learning in a different country. Students entering EES also arrive with a wide range of different qualifications, in a vast array of different subject areas.

Whether you’re joining us as an undergraduate or postgraduate student, it’s likely that the way we teach will be different to what you have experienced before, particularly if some of your recent study has been during the pandemic.

So what does this mean for you? Opportunities, certainly, as you’ll benefit from diverse insights into how people live and study around the world. As well as learning from each other (and we have some excellent peer support schemes in place!), we’ve designed a comprehensive academic development programme to guide you through your first weeks with us, and to carry on supporting you through to graduation.

Before you move on, take a quick look at these amazing resources on “Making a successful transition to university learning” on the Oxford University Press website, and perhaps bookmark them to read over the next few weeks?
