Welcome Events

During Welcome Week (16-20 September) you will have some scheduled induction meetings with Centre for Ecology and Conservation staff.  Keep an eye on your timetable as these will also be detailed there.  Any problems with your timetable then please contact us!

Undergraduates:

During Welcome Week, you'll have a mix of activities in your timetable to help you learn about support on campus and what you'll be studying during your course.  We have also planned activities to help you know the campus and some of your peers.  The full list of activities is in your timetable, or you can find them here (though check timetable for updates).

The first week of term (23-27 September) is Research Week and includes activities designed to get you thinking about the scientific process and also familiarise yourself with work conducted in the department. This will be a chance for you to get to know your peers and staff while conducting your own independent research project and a daytrip to explore Cornwall a little more.

MSc students:
Your induction will include (among other things) an opportunity to meet staff and ask questions in our PGT welcome talk, and an MSc welcome conference in which you will have an opportunity to hear about the research projects conducted by last year’s cohort of MSc students and get to know your peers during a networking event.  The full list of activities is in your timetable, or you can find them here (though check timetable for updates).
