We recommend that you look through this resource before joining us here; however, there's no need to rush, as you'll carry on having access using the details you first used to join it throughout your first year at Exeter. Please do use the Forums to ask questions and to look to see what your peers are asking.
If you've not experienced online learning before via a platform like Learn.Exeter, there are just a few guidelines that are worth reading through first. You'll discover lots about being a student in your degree area, but we also want you to get to know each other! The more you are able to contribute via the Forums, the more we'll be able to work together to create an inclusive and welcoming community.
Posting your comments
Share your thoughts in the Forums. Have a look at other students' comments. If you can relate to a comment someone else has made, why not leave a reply?
If you are interested in what may be said in a Forum, you can use the “Subscribe to Forum” button – you will automatically be subscribed if you post to it or reply to it.
You can amend your preferences for this in your profile.
Communicating online top tips
- Read your comments and replies all the way through before you post them. If you post in a hurry, you may regret it later – you can edit your comments for up to 30 minutes after you have posted them or delete them if you wish
- Don’t write a reply that you wouldn’t say face-to-face
- Remember that your fellow students vary in culture, age and experience
- Not all students have English as their first language, so always try to write clearly
- Explain any acronyms you use and avoid jargon if you can
- If you see a message that you think is offensive you can report it via the contact us link at the bottom of the course page
- Please be aware that any comments and contributions in this forum are open to the general public and NOT just other students in the cohort.
