Our Accessibility and Inclusive Learning teams support and advise students with disabilities, long-term health conditions and Specific Learning Differences (dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD) by recommending adjustments to teaching, assessment and accommodation. Our aim is for all students to feel valued and included and to have the right support in place to facilitate life at the University.
The Accessibility Team can advise you on applying for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA). This could help overcome any practical barriers to learning, and might include: support workers, study skills tutors, specialist equipment or software. They will work with you in a confidential and supportive way to discuss your needs.
If you are eligible, they can help you to set up an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to recommend reasonable adjustments to help you to minimise the impact any disability, long term health condition or specific learning difficulty may have on your studies. Reasonable adjustments for examinations (such as extra time, laptop usage, specific rooming provision) can be put in place with our support and appropriate supporting evidence.
It’s important to note that previous exam adjustments you may have had before registering at the university will not automatically transfer to your study at Exeter.
If you have any concerns about accessibility during your time here, please contact Director of Student Experience, Kelly Moyes (K.Moyes@exeter.ac.uk).
