The Covid-19 pandemic led to disruption across schools and colleges, as well as universities, and we know that you might not have had an ideal education experience over the past few years. Some of you may have missed out on covering as many topics as normal in curriculums, and because assessments were conducted differently in 2020 and 2021, you might not have had as much experience with taking formal exams. Some of you may even be returning to education for the first time in a good while.
We want to support you during your transition into undergraduate or postgraduate study, and many of the resources and activities available to you during Term 1 and beyond are designed to help you catch up on anything you’ve missed. We are aware that we may need to spend longer on some topics to build your confidence, so please don’t hesitate to tell us when you don’t understand something. Your tutors will all have regular dedicated (“office”) hours each week where you can meet with them, so don’t miss these important opportunities to get help.
In the meantime, we’ve been working with other Russell Group universities and the Open University to develop a set of resources specially designed to support getting you off to a good start this autumn. You can find more information on the Jumpstart University Hub website.
