We have students from lots of different countries in EES, and we’d love to hear more about where you’re from! When you join us as a student at Exeter, you’ll bring with you knowledge about your home towns and countries that will make classroom discussions much more interesting and lively than if we were all of one nationality.

I was inspired to take this course because I love the environment and want to know more about how to reduce the threats towards its health so that the earth can be enjoyed by future generations. I am looking forward to meeting new people at university.

Hi I’m Reuben Wright about to begin a MSc in sustainable development. I live in Cornwall and would love to see this place continue to thrive but in a more sustainable fashion. Hi! My name is Tilly and I will be studying BA/BSc Geography with Study Abroad. I chose this course because throughout my education I have loved learning about the world and how it works both in the physical and social sense and I hope to be able to make a difference in creating a more sustainable future. I am looking forward to having access to an amazing environment with plenty of opportunities unique to the area as well as meeting new people and making new friends.

Hi i'm Daniel Bassingthwaighte and i'm going to be starting the MSc Mining Engineering course. I've done about 7 years as an engineering geologist/geotechnical engineer and decided last year that I wanted a change in career. Going into mining has been on my mind since I got my BEng (Portsmouth graduate), and so last year I quit my job, travelled southeast asia with my partner for 8.5 months and applied to study at Penryn School of Mines! Looking forward to hearing about everyone else's backgrounds who have chosen the mining route!

Hello, I'm Amy and I'm about to take the BSc Environmental Science course.
I was inspired to take this because I have always been passionate about trying to improve the health of our ecosystems and the environment as a whole. I studied Environmental Science at A Level and really wanted to pursue this further.
I'm looking forward to expanding my knowledge on this, meeting others who care about the environment similarly to me and also simply making new friends!

I chose this course because I find geography really interesting, particularly physical geography, and want to pursue something geography related in the future. Hi, I'm Rita, I will be studying MSc Mining and Exploration Geology, I just finished my BSc Geology at Bristol.
I really enjoyed going back to uni as a mature student and I felt that I had the energy and motivation to add a specialisation and one more year of study to my learning path.
I am looking forward to moving down to Cornwall and learning about the economic side of geology and visiting mines smile

I have always found the physical world really interesting especially natural disasters and the way different countries respond to them.

Hi i am megan and i'm studying BSc Engineering Geology and Geotechincs. I love the cornish coastline and exploring around it and how the coastline was created and how now we build on our land the land takes the weight of these structures!
